HikerTown is more than a stop on the Pacific Crest Trail. It is a unique desert landmark, a rural community gathering place, and a piece of California trail history. For years, HikerTown has welcomed hikers, visitors, residents, trail angels, and supporters from around the world. Its Old West-style buildings, desert setting, windmill, signs, and community character make it unlike anywhere else on the trail. Today, residents and supporters are working to preserve HikerTown while documenting concerns about code enforcement pressure, regional land development, and the future of rural communities in the Western Antelope Valley. By signing this petition, you are calling for transparency, preservation review, fair treatment of residents and property owners, and meaningful public examination of the issues affecting HikerTown and the surrounding region.

- 2Transparency from public agencies regarding enforcement actions, zoning decisions, development proposals, land-use changes, and planning decisions affecting HikerTown and nearby rural communities.
- 3Fair treatment of residents and property owners facing code enforcement, permit disputes, fines, compliance issues, or land-use pressure.
- 4Public examination of regional development impacts, including solar, wind, utility, highway, water, infrastructure, and data center projects in the Western Antelope Valley.
- 5Meaningful local community benefit from any development affecting Neenach, HikerTown, and surrounding rural areas.
- 6Protection of the Pacific Crest Trail experience and the cultural places that have supported hikers, trail angels, residents, and visitors for years.

Submitted to the LA County Board of Supervisors, this report documented residents' concerns about zoning enforcement protocols, energy development, land pressure, water rights, and whether local residents would meaningfully benefit from regional development. These concerns show the issues affecting HikerTown did not appear overnight.
